Hi everyone, so today I want to talk to you about a PR campaign which I feel works very effectively. Heineken run a campaign called 'Heineken Live Project' which involves Heineken bringing free gigs to Ireland including some well-known names such as Maverick Sabre and ASAP Rocky. Heineken use Facebook to promote these gigs as well as using it as a link for people to receive their free tickets through their fan page.
The reason i find this campaign so effective is because it targets Heineken's younger target market by using Facebook and by having new up-and-coming music acts playing at the gigs. It is important to target the younger age bracket as usually people tend to stay loyal to a particular drink brand throughout their life. Another good aspect of this campaign is the amount of publicity it gets throughout Facebook which is where i originally found out about it when a lot of my friends started sharing the event and receiving their free tickets, which in turn made me want to get involved. I went to the Jack Beats and Maverick Sabre gig in Carlow which was a really good night and promoted Heineken a huge amount by giving tokens for a free bottle of Heineken and all that was sold at the bar was Heineken also.
This is just one of the social media campaigns that i found effective although i do think it would be a good idea to branch out answer use other sites as well as Facebook.
That's all from me for today,
CompliKatie.
